Board Vice President, Cheryl Roop and Superintendent of District Affairs, Dr. Rochelle Clark District's Annual Support Day Reduces Barrier to Success for Students

Crete-Monee School District is incredibly grateful for the families, vendors, organizations, local community members and volunteers who attended our Annual Support Day on Saturday, August 10th at the District Administration Center. The event was a great success and we are pleased to share that 573 children from 202 families were served! Students received backpacks and school supplies, free haircuts, dental services, and connection to community resources. Our food pantry partner, Northern Illinois Food Bank, was on hand to distribute fresh food and vegetables through the District’s Unity Kitchen.

“We are so happy to see so many smiling faces today,” said Dr. Rochelle Clark, Asst. Superintendent of District Affairs. “We feel strongly that this incredible turnout today says that we are meeting our goal of reducing barriers to academic success by linking students and their families to available community resources,” she added.

“The District hopes to continue our important work on behalf of families in our communities,” said Superintendent Kara Coglianese. She added that the outpouring of appreciation from attendees of Support Day is proof that the work to provide resources for our community is vital -- noting a Facebook post from a parent this weekend that read:

“Thank you for having the school supply and food pantry today. Your generosity blessed our family greatly.”

“We think that says it all,” the superintendent said.
