Getting to know you...
The Crete-Monee School District 201-U family recently welcomed Dr. Celia Arresola as the new Director of Special Education. Dr. Arresola has over 22 years of experience in the field of education and is excited to have started her next professional chapter here in District 201-U!
“I was looking for an opportunity to use my knowledge of special education rules, regulations, and best practices to directly impact the services provided to the students with disabilities. I believe that this school district will allow me to make a positive impact on the students it serves,” said Dr. Arresola. Throughout her career, Dr. Arresola has served as an elementary and middle school principal, special education teacher, and most recently a Principal Education Consultant for the Illinois State Board of Education. Through her new position as Director of Special Education, she hopes to utilize the strengths of staff to improve and maximize the services and experiences the school district provides its students.
The Director of Special Education provides coordination and leadership to special education programming at all levels, including case management; in-district and out-of-district placements; staff hiring, supervision, and evaluation; staff development and liaison to outside service agencies.
