Crete-Monee Education Foundation
The Crete-Monee Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that was established in 1995 to support the educational opportunities offered to the students of District 201-U. As school district budgets continue to shrink, the foundation works diligently to ensure that students are provided a world-class education. Throughout the year, the Crete-Monee Education Foundation hosts several fundraising events to raise funds for the district's educational programming initiatives. These events include the annual Wine & Cheese Gala and the Homecoming Tailgate Party. The Wine & Cheese Gala is held in the spring and brings members of the local community together for an evening filled with live music, hors d' oeuvres, a silent auction, and more. Alumni, community members, staff and students gather each year at the foundation's Homecoming Tailgate Party. This is a free community event that is open to all ages. In 2009, the Crete-Monee Education Foundation also became a Dollars for Scholars chapter. The volunteer-driven chapters help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.
The foundation will creatively raise funds to enhance the educational experiences of the students in District 201-U by seeking suggestions and support from our richly diverse community. The activities of the foundation will provide an opportunity for investment in the future of our children, our schools, and our community.
The CMEF supports the vision, strategic priorities and goals of CM201-U and encourages its continuous development by being the community’s premier fundraising resource for our students, staff, and administrations; the leader in promoting academics as a lifelong activity.
