How do you pay for college? Financial Aid can help! Please join ISAC and the Guidance Department on Thursday, September 28th, from 6:30-7:30pm in the auditorium to learn about the types of financial aid, eligibility and how to apply. Bring your parents too!
If you are interested in the military for your post- secondary plans and would like to participate in the ASVAB exam in October, please come to the Guidance office before or after school to sign up. The ASVAB is available for students 10-12th grade. If there are any questions please see Ms. Alexander in Guidance.
Attention Seniors: Do you need help completing college applications, registering for the SAT or ACT, or applying for scholarships? Every Tuesday and Thursday after school from 2:00-3:45pm, the Guidance Office will be open for students to receive one-on-one assistance from the counselors. We can help with all of your college questions!
Calling all Sophomores! Are you interested in a career in the trades, such as cosmetology, nursing, welding or computer technology? The Kankakee Area Career Center will be holding their annual Sophomore Day field trip on October 17. Students will be able to check out three 20-minute presentations for the career fields they are interested in. Applications may be picked up in Guidance and are due by today, Friday, September 15.
Juniors and Seniors can sign up for the following college visits in the Guidance office. Juniors are allowed 4 per semester and Seniors are allowed 2. You must write your 1st hour room number in order to receive a pass. Sept. 19th, Wabash College, 8:00 a.m.; Sept. 20th, Chicago State University at 10:00 a.m.; Sept. 26th, Notre Dame at 9:00 a.m.; Oct. 3rd, Western Illinois University - 9:00 a.m.; Oct. 4th, Monmouth College at 9:30 a.m.; Oct. 5th, De Paul University - 9:15 a.m.; Oct. 18th, Illinois Wesleyan University at 8:30 a.m.; Nov. 1st, Morehouse College at 7:30 a.m.; Nov. 15th, Millikin University at 8:30 a.m.
Attention students: Our first Art Club meeting will be on Monday, September 18th from 2:50-3:45 in room E-103. You do not have to be enrolled in any art classes to join.
