This year, the ELC is lucky enough to have four new specialists that provide weekly experiences for our students. Having specials at school helps develop various skills in children and builds upon academic achievement in all areas. We are proud to introduce our hardworking specialists!

Matthew Mueller: Gym  "My name is Mr. Matthew Mueller and I am the new physical education teacher at the Early
Learning Center. I also teach physical education at Coretta Scott King Magnet School. This is my fifth
year in the district. My first four years in the district were spent in the classroom teaching fourth grade. I
received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Saint Xavier University. I am currently
continuing my education at Saint Xavier University in pursuit of my master’s degree in special education.
I really enjoy my time at the Early Learning Center. My main focus is getting your children interested in
exercising through sports and other game related activities."

Rose Ringenberg: Art  "
My name is Rose Ringenberg and I am proud to say that I am now a member of the Crete-Monee 201U faculty. I grew up and raised my family here in the south suburbs, and it is wonderful being a part of the community. I firmly believe that education is a partnership between the teachers, families, and the community. I am the art teacher here at the ELC. This year I hope to add color and confidence to the ELC students as they develop their artistic skills."

Margaret Caraher: Music My lifelong love of music began in the 4th grade when I learned to play the viola in my school orchestra. I have a Bachelor of Music from DePaul University and a Master’s of Educational Administration from Governors State University. I taught orchestra for 10 years in Kankakee, IL and in Munster, Indiana
before I had my children. I resigned my orchestra job in Munster to stay home with my four children. When I resumed teaching, I found myself in Homewood teaching both general music and orchestra and am now in my 5th year teaching general music for Crete-Monee Schools. I am at both the Early Learning Center and at Coretta Scott King. I play the viola in three professional orchestras: Northwest Indiana Symphony, Whiting Park Festival Orchestra and South Suburban Orchestra. I am also involved in the Boy Scout program as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 542 in Munster, In. I am very excited about this school year and working with preschool children. Hopefully the children will be singing our school songs for you at home!
