Cookies for Courage

On Friday morning, the Monee Fire Department and Police Department received cookies from MEC's Student Government who wanted to show both departments they were appreciated.  The Fire and Police Departments were presented with a Thank You poem and a tray full of cookies.  Both departments gave Student Government a tour of each facility and explained each room's purpose.  The students were also asking questions about possible careers in each field.  We are thankful for our community's first responders to keep our community safe.

School Activities
All of the schools in the Crete-Monee School District provide activities for students that create opportunities for personal growth, academic development, creativity, and fun! Many student activities take place within the classroom and also after school. These may be in the form of classroom projects, extra-curricular clubs and activities, athletics, or family events. District 201-U offers students a wide range of activities to participate in that are guaranteed to provide a positive and rewarding experience for all.

Many of our schools have after-school clubs and activities that promote team work, self-discipline, goal setting, and responsibility. Throughout the year, the schools also host many family friendly events such as Literacy Night, family reading nights, seasonal parties, athletic nights, and more! These events are great ways to stay involved in your child’s educational experience.

Please visit the district’s online calendar to view upcoming events, activities, club meetings, and more!

Monee Education Center teams up with Chicago Area Alternative Education League (CAAEL)  CAAEL provides opportunities for students to excel in a sport that they may otherwise not have the chance to play for multiple reasons.  CAAEL provides a full spectrum of academic and athletic programs to over 100,000 of the area's most at-risk students.

Our CAAEL football season has just ended.  Our team played so well and we put forth so much effort!  We were able to travel to some of the schools and really enjoyed seeing and playing on their fields.  Sportsmanship was a huge factor in our team this season and a major focus.  At the end of each game, we selected one member from each team that showed the best sportsmanship.  Each of our games were really close and our team truly came together as a team.  We had some amazing touchdowns and catches.  Please check out our slideshow from this season.

Please stay turned our volleyball season is about to start!  After that is basketball!  Our CAAEL involvement is ever growing!
