Congratulations to journalism students Izabella Wilczek, Nya Brunson, Jessica Stinnett, Imani Caldwell, Curtis Pointer, and Shawn Yarborough for winning the IHSA Journalism Sectional Tournament at Homewood-Flossmoor High School on Saturday! This is the second year in a row that Crete has come home with awards and will now be going down state to compete at Eastern Illinois University.
The high school Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band competed in the IHSA State Music Organizational Contest, with all receiving a Division I Superior rating. This is the first time in school history that the Jazz Ensemble has achieved this level at state. It has been five years since the Wind Ensemble has achieved this level, and the first time the Symphonic Band has achieved this level at State for both Varsity and JV. Congratulations Band members. CM201U is very proud of you!
Congratualtions to the Math team for the qualification of 16 students for the State Math Competition this year. The competition will take place on May 5, 2018.
Student Government's Turn-A-Bout 2018 was certainly a Winter Wonderland. Students came out on a beautiful Saturday evening and found themselves in a land of snow white and winter blue. Throughout the evening, students enjoyed dinner, dessert and the music as well as the winter ambiance. Ms. Caitlyn Heckenast was crowned Turn-A-Bout Queen and Ms. Angelica Fields was crowned Turn-A-Bout Princess. It was an enjoyable time for all who came out.
Congratulations to the Crete Monee Math Team-CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS! Not only did they win first overall, they swept the competition and won every single event! Great job, Warrior students and coaches! So proud of your hard work and accomplishments!
