Testing

 April 23/24: Testing Days

On April 23 and 24 our juniors will take the PSAE exam. This exam is given to all junior students in Illinois. Both testing dates are critical for juniors. Crete-Monee High School has been preparing the junior class for this exam for some time. On April 23, Sophomores will take the PLAN/practice ACT test which can be used as a predictor of potential performance on the ACT exam. On April 24, Freshmen will take the practice PLAN test.

All students are required to bring two #2 pencils and a calculator. Students are encouraged to leave their electronic devices at home or secure them in their locker as cell phones are not allowed on or visible during the test.
Students only need to attend school on the aforementioned designated dates.

April 23 students will be dismissed by noon. April 24 students will be dismissed by 11:30am.

Mission
Our mission as a School Counseling and Guidance Department is to assist students in acquiring the academic, career, and personal / social competencies and skills to contribute to and become productive members of society.

Philosophy
The Crete-Monee High School Guidance Department provides a framework in which all counselors collaborate to offer a common set of guidance experiences to all students and, at the same time, focus on the individual needs and interest of each student. We encourage the importance of the individual and the development of personal relationships among students and between students and adults.

Guidance Team
Our guidance team works throughout the year to develop a comfortable working relationship with both students and their parents. We work alongside parents, teachers, and administrators on issues related to learning styles, emotional needs, and behavior.

We are mentors who provide important information about how the school functions and about how to make the best of the high school experience. The guidance counselors also help students plan an academic career and guides and encourages students to fulfill their educational and personal potential.
