Crete-Monee Virtual Backpack Information

Virtual Backpack ProgramIn an effort to enhance communication with students, parents, and the general public, District 201-U has implemented a new feature on its website called the Virtual Backpack.

District 201-U often receives requests from other organizations to distribute informational materials to students. The Virtual Backpack provides staff members and parents an alternative way to access information that has been distributed in the school district by PTOs, Booster Clubs, district organizations, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, local businesses, and business partners. Letters, flyers, fundraiser notices, etc. will be posted on the web site as they are distributed in the district. District approval of an informational flyer does not imply District 201U’s sponsorship of the event or exclusive endorsement of any organization.

We believe the benefits of this program will be the following:

  • Increases effectiveness of flyer distribution
  • Saves money for organizations and the district
  • Saves time for district personnel
  • Is environmentally friendly by saving on the cost of paper and xerox production costs

All requests to distribute information must be approved by the superintendent. Groups that wish to distribute information must first email a completed District 201U Request to Distribute Materials form and a PDF of the flyer to Kristen Yudis at least two weeks prior to the desired posting date. Submitting organizations should read the Distribution Guidelines posted on the website prior to submitting a request.

Postings are organized by month and all documents posted within the school year will remain accessible throughout the year.

The Virtual Backpack is our way of communicating important school materials to parents and guardians without the need to send paperwork home with students. Parents or community members who register through the district's website Notify Me Module will receive email alerts when this page is updated.
